Created recommendation to improve processes and select “world-class” vendors for process improvement, cost reductions, and employee enhancement. Allianz Life was the leading fixed annuities firm in the U.S. with annual premium exceeding $13 billion.

For Best Buy, the industry leading electronics retailer, guided numerous projects leading to the selection of core financial, supply chain, and human resource applications. Provided management leadership for multiple directors. Guided the process to select a nationally prominent consulting firm to manage the package selection and implementation project. Researched the ability of the newly created “dotcom” division to create and implement its own financial systems. Led the requirements process and package selection process for security systems and the Activity Based Costing (ABC) department. Created the training plans for the financial team to learn Oracle applications.

Founded a local management and technology consulting firm. AMAX grew the company from its inception into one of the larger consulting firms in the region. As President, was responsible for all activities of the company, including: business strategy, profit & loss, operations, recruiting, negotiating contracts, sales and marketing, customer satisfaction, quality assurance, and legal matters. Clients included nearly all of the Fortune 500 firms in the area.

The Founder of an Eastern management and technology firm wanted to expand to the Midwest. Based on a client CIO’s referral, he asked AMAX to create the Twin Cities branch from scratch. He wasn’t disappointed. The Twin Cities division became of one of the fastest growing, most profitable, and most reputable consulting services firms serving Fortune 500 clients in the region. Averaged more than 100% growth in revenue for multiple years, with commensurate profit, and high client and employee satisfaction. When information is sent over the Internet, organizations and customers face exposure of personal information, financial data, and loss of privacy. When the executives of a start-up Internet software and services firm foundered, they turned to AMAX to lead the senior team. Worked with the team to revise the strategy for the firm, lead operations, resolve numerous legal issues, and lead efforts to reformulate the company. Worked with firms globally to create offerings and determine the demand for innovative intellectual property (earning nine U.S. and Canadian patents). The firm developed from a pure start-up to securing initial customer revenue, validating marketplace need and viability of the intellectual property to insure Internet transmissions.

With a business associate, led the acquisition, merger, and integration of a $36 million consulting company resulting in an overall cash return on investment before taxes of 61%, allowing the return of the original associates investment within six months. Led the firm through a critical period (including 9/11 and internal conflicts) and maintained profitability. Responsible for all activities of the company, including: business strategy, profit & loss, operations, recruiting, negotiating contracts, sales and marketing, customer satisfaction, quality assurance, business partnerships, and legal matters. As member of the Executive Management Team, led strategic directions and key tactical decisions of the firm.
